A short evening flight into Schiphol with hand luggage, and a massage soon after
Not every night arrival follows a long-haul journey. Many travellers come in on a short hop from a nearby capital, an hour or so in the air after a day's work, with a cabin bag and no wait at the belt.
A short European flight that lands at eleven is a different night from a long-haul arrival at the same hour. The body is tired from the day rather than from the flight; the clock has hardly moved, if at all; and with nothing in the hold, the walk from the aircraft to the exit can be quick. That speed is the main thing to plan around, because it brings the moment you can be in a room much closer to the landing.
No border, no belt
Flights from inside the Schengen area arrive without a passport check, and a traveller carrying only a cabin bag skips the baggage hall entirely. From the gate to the taxi rank or the station can then take little more than the walk itself. On a flight from outside the area, such as one from London, the passport desk comes back into the sum, and its queue at night can be either short or surprisingly long.
Confirming earlier than usual
Because the exit is fast, a short-hop traveller can usually confirm sooner than someone off a long flight. For a central hotel, confirming as you leave the aircraft gives her the forty to sixty minutes of the window while you ride into town and check in. For an airport room the reply states her journey before the start is fixed; with the terminal behind you so quickly, ask for a start that matches your real pace rather than a long-haul one.
A weeknight trip
Short hops are often work trips or city breaks that begin after the office. If tomorrow is a full day, an hour is plenty; if the trip is a weekend, ninety minutes or two hours fit a night that has not been worn down by a long journey. The services page sets out the formats, and the roster shows each therapist's languages and home district.
Keep the deposit in mind
A first booking with the house confirms with half the fee before she sets out, wherever the room is, and so does any room at the airport. A returning guest heading into town for an hour or two the same day settles the whole fee at the door. Either way, have the thread open before take-off, so the only thing left to do on landing is press send.
